The workpiece to be rolled is to be produced to the pre-processing diameter. Because of the difference in the rolling materials, this is a guideline value and is, if necessary, enlarged in steps of 0.01 mm until the thread is fully formed. A further diameter increase would damage the tool as a result of overload.

Rolling speed:

We recommend a rolling speed of 20 to 50 m/min. Non-ferrous metals are to be rolled in the upper, automatic steels in the middle and hard-to-work steels in the lower cutting speed range. Sufficient lubrication with cutting oil is required.

Rollable materials

JBO threaded roller irons are suitable for cold-formable

Materials with a minimum elongation of approx. 8% and up to approx. 900 N/mm2strength. The workpiece must receive a chamfer of 15-20° so that the rolling iron rolls easily. Chamfer and preparation diameter must be round without any impact.
